SIR works to reform the Medicare fee schedule to prevent annual cuts to reimbursement for interventional radiologists and to ensure that we are properly reimbursed for the services we provide

Whether the issue is scope of practice, prior authorization, HIPAA compliance, data reporting, FDA approvals, or the safe handling of radioactive isotopes, SIR works to ensure that IR's are free from unnecessary regulatory burdens and able to focus on patient care.

SIR works with multiple physician specialty organizations, members of Congress, and other healthcare stakeholders to increase research funding, awareness, prevention, and treatment of a wide range of conditions, including uterine fibroids, peripheral artery disease, blood clots, and cancer.

Interventional Radiology is a growing specialty that requires support from state and federal governments to bring new IRs into the practice; SIR also works to address issues of physician burnout and workforce safety.
